so people say the emergent/post modern church movement is based too much on criticism. They say that it is dangerous because it doesn't have its own stable doctrine. Now there's the hard part about it. The emergent/post modern church movement adamantly resists doctrinization. It abhors theology. Apologetics are useless. Therefore, there is no real way that the E/PM church movement can really prove itself to the existent mainline denominations.
However, I believe that there is a huge misconception of this movement that it wants to throw out all the old into the trash and just have nothing to replace it. I think this is slightly wrong. The E/PM church movement i believe actually has the tendency to embrace the old. It recognizes the pharisee spirit in so many traditions. It deconstructs these traditions and attempts to rediscover the true origins of the tradition- GOD. That's why there's so much re-embracing with eastern orthodox, catholocism, liturgical, etc. This generation is seeking for genuineness, not just some socio-cultural construction.
anyways, that ends my rant. I don't have time to develop this thought. This thought shall be continued.

What liturgy? And what traditions to the emergent church movement embrace, exactly? To my knowledge, these churches unite due to their non-denominationalism. But an abhorrence to doctrine and theology is an abhorrence to tradition and God's workings throughout redemptive history. Merely picking out the pharisaic spirit doesn't really constitute for embracing tradition, does it?
